No.9 NIGHT DIVING (THE CORAL SEA)

Captain Wally Muller used a movie light for his night diving.

Live volute perplicata sea shells found on a night dive at 'a reef' in The Coral Sea.  Collectors would give anything to know where.  'It's a long distance offshore', as are all the reefs and today a marine park zone.

At Chesterfield Reef (Territory of France).  A night dive found endemic volute Thatcheri shells, at the time extremely valuable. (1971).

Captain Wally Muller goes shell collecting at Marion Reef under his charter boat.  New moon is a  good time.
Shark hazards should not be under-estimated during a night dive.  Tiger shark pictured at stern of Freedom III
